This software tracks costs associated with Hostess delivery fleets within the country and manages preventative maintenance schedules for individual trucks.
Each of the delivery vehicle requires a maintenance schedule to keep it in safe running order. This system allows the schedule to be put in for each vehicle by the area in Canada that it is used in. When an purchase order is requested for work on the vehicle it is tracked in this system. The work done on the vehicle is assigned to various accounts depending on the type of work done, and if it is standard maintenance it is recorded against the maintenance schedule. The system also tracks when the invoice comes in for the purchase order.
This information allows each vehicle, and each area to be reported on in several ways. A report of the compliance to the maintenance schedule allows Frito Lay to see if each vehicle is having the required work done on it in a timely fashion. Additional reports summarize expenses and costs per measure for mileage, liters of gas etc. Some of this data is then used in another system developed by Competitive Edge Information Systems called the Cost Forecasting System (see the Budgeting Systems section under Frito Lay) to assist in budgeting costs for the future.
